ABS/ OPTION
Guys,
Thanks for all the ABS comments. My delivery was delayed so I have time to add ABS. I guess it is well worth the $800.
Ya, better to ride a Harley than a Yamasaki with whatever!!

I have the 08 Ultra Anniversary and it is standard equipment...... I'm glad it is. The 1st time a deer wanted to get up close and personal with me and the 2nd time a charter bus turned in front of me at the last second. If I didn't have them I would have had two collisions as I couldn't come down on the brakes any harder without the wheels skipping out on me.
I'll be in the minority here, but the Brembro brakes are a huge improvement over the old HD brakes, fantastic control and response.I've got the NonABS Brembro's and that's ok with me.never liked the way ABS felt in cars either.
That said, there's some very impressive testimonials to ABS in this thread....

My new 08 Ultra came with out ABS which is the way I wanted it. I will say to each his/her own, but they aren't for me. Rode another make with them and didn't like the feel. Besides, most of the people I ride with swear I don't ride fast enough to need it!

You don't have to ride fast to need ABS. I came around a blind curve in a canyon last week and found that traffic had backed up for road construction to the point that I had almost no notice before I was on the back of a van's bumper. No time to pump the brakes- no time for anything! The back end locked and started coming around. I let off and re-applied brakes and stopped about six inches from the bumper. One day some wild situation will be thrown at you and anyone with sense will wish they had every tool available to keep from cracking their bike or their skull. If ABS is available you'd be nuts not to get it.
Traded two bikes for a 105 th. Anniversary RKC, and have to wait till Dec., that would be his next one to get. I had ABS added to the bike and don't care about the wait because of the brakes.
