It just started this crap today. While riding, it goes to Bass, Treble, and Fader settings for no reason. If I try to manually go to the settings, no response. Tried the update but no remedy. Suggestions?
Probably means it needs to go into to the dealership so they can send it off for their wonderful refurb. Mine's going in for it's third time with the same problem, radio cuts in and out, doesn't matter if it's FM, CD, or Aux it cuts in and out. First two times they said I had a bare wire, can't figure out why it keeps coming up bare. Going to do this until the warranty is up, then I'll put in an aftermarket radio.
Prolly a faulty switch, or an abraded/pinched wire shorting out at or near the switch housing.....
Loosen up the switch housings and see if there are changes in the affected events....
Don't forget the switches at the rear speakers as well....
You'll narrow down the affected string.... The stereo shares only 3 or 4 wires to make those switches work... But they are all on the same circuit... I.D. the faulty trunk, and you found your problem....
Get the dealer to replace it. Hopefully under warranty. Been there and done that and I think I am bout to do it all over again. I fire up the bike and twice now there has been a very loud buzzing sound, almost like feedback etc. I am going to take it back in and let them replace it yet again.
The HK radio is a POS. Many people on here have had problems, including me. Mine went within the first 6 months. Luckily mine was replaced at the dealership with a new one. Been OK since but many have had additional problems.[:@]
