How does the nav work on the radio on a 07 ultra, or should I just get after market.

You must purchase the nav unit first from hd then plug it in.

cheaper to go aftermarket; you can then use the gps on anything. I have a garmin 2610, the older units. I use it on 2 of my bikes and my car/truck. Very handy at times. I use it the most for hotel/motel, food, and fuel stops. I prefer to just ride unless I am going to a store out of town.

I went with a Garmin 550. Made for motorcycles and can be moved to a car. Comes with mounts. Look around as prices will vary.

I have a Zumo 550 - I switch it back and forth from the bike to the car - didn't like the HD Nav system because it used the radio screen - to small for me to really see. I do love the Zumo.....

I asked the radio unit (gps) and the dealer won't even sell me one............. they hate it !! to small and only a few features... they said wait till early Oct... garmin is making a new unit for the fairing mount or handlebar mount..... they said it will be the best unit they've ever had and alot cheaper than the radio unit... it's supposed to be the garmin zumo for harley.

Go for the Zumo 550. You can add XM to it & still have money left over, as compared to the factory option.
