I need to replace my rear tire on my road king . So I ordered a Metzeler 880( from Motorcycle Pro Shop for $107 plusshipping) But now I,m wondering if its ok the mix tires ??? My front tire still has alot of life( its a dunlop) or should I change both at same time ????
Thanks for any help
There are many theories on tire mixing.
I have mixed tires for the last 5 years and never had a problem. I have mixed tires on all my sport bikes as well.
The biggest concern for me was wet weather riding with two different tire brands, but never had a problem wet or dry.
I would no worry about it myself.
They use this tactic to sell more rubber IMO.
It's all smoke and mirrors! Do you really think all that crap like the sidewall matters on a bike with a 300 in the rear and a skinny 21 incher in the front? Buy one tire enjoy the ride. I've rode bikes for years swapping out tires as they wore out and never had a problem.
