Usually I ride with the radio/CD player on. Today on the 50 mile ride to the dealer I wanted to listen close for drivetrain noises for comparison purposes. My 07 Ultra whines some in 5th...not bad but some. Without the radio playing I noticed some chatter/clatter in 5th & 6th...not alarming but some noise.
Had the IDS installed (no labor charge..moco will pay upto $100). Have ridden 150 miles since...around town, two lane highways and the 75 mph down the Interstate. About 90% of all the drivetrain noise has been eliminated plus it seems to shift & ride smoother. My conclusion...it is well worth it...knowing what I know now I would do it again.
Mine is being installed tomorrow (and looking forward to similar results), but when I asked the dealer about some type of reduction of the labor charge, he just laughed and said he never heard of such a thing. I checked the hd web site and couldn't find anything. Do you know if this $100 credit is company wide or just your dealership?
I second that. I don't think my clattering was that bad. The improvement it makes in smooth acceleration is well worth every penny spent. For all you whiners out ther waiting for MOCO you are missing out on a major improvement. I cant believe a person would spend over 20K on a bike and balk at $200 on probably the best thing you could put on your bike because of principal. T.
Well, the big brown truck just showed up. Yep, My IDS is here. I was thinking of taking it in to the dealer but looks like a straight forward install and I will do myself during the weekend.

B.S. That's not the point.
Someone spending $20K should expect something better.

I also had IDS installed today and my dealer knows nothing of the rebate. Could you contact your dealer and see if he has some sort of campaign number mine could reference? TIA
As far as preformance with the IDS I gained 6 to 7 hundred RPM on the bottom end. I operated between 27 and 35 hundred RPM before IDS, now the bike is quite comfortable between 2000 and 2500. 60 mph in 6th is not a problem. 5th is still noisy but no more marbles and everything is smoooth!!!
When I made my appointment with the service manager a few days ago I stated that I understood the moco would pay for installation upto $100. He said he was not aware of that but would check recent paperwork received from moco. He came back to the phone and agreed. Today he showed me the document that lists the various parts that are included in this $100 off install promo. Its for real. Maybe some dealers don't tell customers and pocket moco's promo dollars..I don't know.
