I installed the IDS this week.. My 07 RG is now the bike it should have been from the day I bought It. HD F' d up on the 07's... shouldda been a stock item..
But Im happy(er) now than ever ! Love that RG.. + The 96 inches!
PS: Can use 6th gear now at 55 and up.. Not 75 and up!
Yep, my opinions exactly!!! Its like the bike should have been from the begining!
Kinda my point.
HD knows they screwed up in 07 with the drive train.
Now they come out with a after fix that they expect people to pay for.
when if they had designed it right in the first place the "fix" wouldn't be needed.
Just another finger job from the moco!!
We all have right to our opinions and their expression.
Mine is that the bike was 100% right from the beginning (mine was anyway, and it makes plenty of noises). This IDS doesn't fix anything, it merely makes the Harley more Goldwinglike. I'm still on the fence about getting one. On the one hand I'd like a little "smoother" operation in some areas/respects but don't want to lose the "unsmoothness" in other areas and fear it would disappear with the IDS. The noises don't bother me. I think they give the ride character/soul.

It gave my bike more "character/soul " . The usable RPM range dropped to the point that it now sounds and preforms like Harley's of past in the lower RPM range. I now have some torque without marbles at 2000 RPM. Try it, I don't think you will be disappointed.

The Discount everyone is talking about is a dealer thing. Not a Factory offer. My dealer in No. California is doing the same thing, $100 off the labor when you buy the parts from them. Must install between October 1 and Dec. 31. but it is not a Factory offer...My Bike goes in Oct 24.

The program is called Elbow Grease and the IDS is one of many parts eligeble for the $100 rebate. Starts 10/1/07.
Tell you dealer to check HD Net! ( Dealer web access ) Either they don't know or are affraid to have a job put off till the 1st. Harley has done this program several times so far, it's free money!
You have to purchase the item and have it installed at the dealer.
The promotion should be available to the public on the Harley retail web site on 10/1.
Take a look at this post/thread, or better yet print it and take it to the dealer...
