I have the Aerostich Darien. Good fit, nicely ventilated, zip out liner and pricy. Its an all around riding suit with shoulder, elbow and knee protectors. My girlfriend bought me the pants and I got the jacket.
I agree, get a good set, which means don't buy the plastic stuff.
I have the plastic stuff....more like a plastic impregnated nylon? Does a decent job of keeping ya dry, unless you're riding in a monsoon. Only real issue I have with it, is you tend to end up wet from sweat, if you're wearing it in temps above 65
Bought mine at Wal mart.
they sell pants and tops separate so you can get a custom fit.
Price was about right. $20 for each about.
You might even try a manufacturers outlet store like Coleman, Cabelas, Sierra Trading post.
sometimes prices are higher, but usually only the best quality.
I also bought a set of snowboarder pants for the cool windy days.
Large enough to go over chaps.
Both legs are full zippered, mesh lining and waterproof cuffs, with snaps and velcro flap closers.
Water resistant and wind resistant. About $60
We bought the "Frogg Toggs" and just as well pissed the money down the toilet! 1st time we wore them, hubby has 2 burn holes in the left leg, not even from the pipes. They are not worth the money IMO. We'll get the HD's next spring.
I bought the rain suit from "First Gear" and like it very much. The pants have a cloth patch on the inside of each pant leg and the colors provide great visability in the rain. Best of all it has kept me dry while riding in the rain.
