This has probably been dicussed already, but I can't find the thread.
I just installed a pair of Kuryakyn ISO comfort grips on my 07' Road King FLHR. I adjusted the throttle cables back to where they were originally but, the throttle would not budge so, I adjusted both cables till the throttle popped back in place like it should. Now, my engine light is on and it takes a second or two for my engine to rev down instead of the regular rrubahh sound that I get. I know I need an adjustment but I am at a loss as to where.
My throttle is moving like it should so, what gives? It is fuel injected. I would assume that there is some kind of adjust I just don't know about. I can't believe that a simple grip install would thow off everything.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Sharkeydude
RE: Throttle adjust, engine light, ISO GRIPS HELP!!
Don't know if this will help, but, after installing a couple of pairs on my Glide, I found that the throttle friction adjuster (If thats what it's called, the manual cruise control) ended up tightening the throttle, actually locking it......
RE: Throttle adjust, engine light, ISO GRIPS HELP!!
Thanks for the reply ShortyK.
I took that into account as well and even removed the lock because I thought that was the issue. For some reason these grips adjust differently than the other H-D classic stlye grips I have installed. I am really perplexed. I even sized them up...they matched. I'm not so worried about the grips as much as I am the engine light coming on. I know it has to do with the throttle because everything was fine till I installed them. Thanks though. At least I feel better!
RE: Throttle adjust, engine light, ISO GRIPS HELP!!
Sometimes throttle cables can be perplexing; I'd loosen them and try again. Something is hung up somewhere. I can't understand why you'd get a CEL though.
