Putting the D&D fatcat on my 07 roadglide this weekend. If you have already done this, anything that you learned that I need to do or watch out for in the install?
Thanks!
I learned a good trick from PhilM.
Drive yor bike up onto a piece of 2 by 6 so that both wheels are on it.
When you put the kick stand down the bike will lean over more. A friend on the left of the bike would be a good idea, just in case.
With the bike over like this, you won't loose any or much transmission fluid when you remove the transmission side cover to swap out the exhaust mount.
And use a torque wrench, brake cleaner and blue loctite on the bolts when reinstalling them.
High heat silicone between the header and the muffler, and check the bolts at the heads after you ride it the first time and again in a few hundred miles.
Ask me how I know.
