Got cold yesterday and started raining. This morning temp is about 33 and its changing back and forth between snow and rain. And I'm picking up my 08 Ultra tomorrow!!!! It is suppose to get a little warmer, maybe into the 50s, but is it even possible to get that motor really warmed up in such cool temps? Sure hope so as I'm planning to put on a good layer of warm clothes under the leather and get some break-in miles on it. The wife might have to thaw me out when I get home, but bet there will still be an ear to ear grin on my face.
Holy Cold Snap...where the heck are you??? We had a cold front through Houston...65 degrees....I'd trade some of this hot for some of your cold any day.
Don't worry about getting your motor warmed up. That hasn't been a problem over the past couple of model years. Just make sure you have enough clothes to be able to put a couple hundred miles on that new bike.
DanB Cheyenne, Wyoming. Its actually been a longer and warmer year than we've had in awhile. Hoping for a good stretch of "Indian summer" as this is our first taste of winter. 10 day forecast makes it look like I might have at least a few good riding days left, but haven't seen very many warm Halloweens around here. I know the new bike will be going into winter storage fairly soon, but would like to get the break-in done, and at least a chance to get the feel of my new baby.
What are you WHINING about? You live in paradise! I'm down in AZ and while it is better riding weather, you will be soooo happy with your new bike, you won't care if your fingers are about to fall off.
...and besides, if the wife does a good job at warming you up, that's just more of a reason to quit complaining. Hell, I'm jealous :
Andre5140, you're right.....everything in prespective all things considered just being able to get a bike like this shows how good things can be. Never did mean to sound like whining, just so damn excited about getting my new ride. And I wouldn't trade where I live with anyone, even if it does mean having to do the winter storage thing for a couple months. The open highways and mountains of Wyoming make for some amazing rides....all in due time.
No snow here, but its a cloudy misty day. I was planning on getting some riding time in. Instead I'll play on the computer and watch then Bears play. Next week looks like a few nice days in the sixties. That's pretty exciting getting the new scoot......self torture letting it sit in the garage as winter closes in.
I just wear leathers, fullface helmet & winter gloves in 35* weather. Drove home a couple of weekends ago, Winter Park (snowing) to Colorado Springs. Great ride (wasn't too hot).
