I have an 07 SG with approx 3200 miles on it. I am a reader of the forums and do not post any at all. Mainly because I am very happy with my bike and have not had any problems. At the 1000 mile checkup I added Rinehart true-duals, Stage II breather, PCIII and a Sundowner seat. My problem is with my left pipe, the one from the rear cylinder. There is about an 1/8 gap between the end cap and the muffler. The other side cap is seated flush with the muffler. The left sidehas an exhaust leak between the end cap and the muffler to a point where it is turning the writing (etching) brown. How do I need to handle this complaint? I have sent BUB an email but have not heard from them in over a week. Anyone with the same problem find a solution? All suggestions will be appreciated.

Well, from all I have read, that brown (soon to be purple) end cap is a deisgn flaw. That is if we are talking about the same thing. I have read a ton of posts where guys have complained about this. I also read that rinehart will replace them. I do not know if that is true, just what I have read. I would continue to email them, and if you can find a number, give them a call. IMO.

The End Cap is Loose..... CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE @ BUB... They'll handle it... Just make sure they send you a NEW END CAP...

Have you tried loosening the bolts that hold the cap on and see if it will move closer to the muffler?

Talked to the rep in customer service at BUB. I am sending a copy of my purchase invoice to him, and he will be sending me the newer teflon coated end caps. When they arrive I will look at it closer to make sure that they seat to the end of the muffler before I run them. You may be right the muffler may be mis-drilled, if so I will bring that to their attention and see if it can be rectified. Thanks again, great place for questions and answers.

You need to know when my tips started to turn purple, instead of sending me just the tips they sent me all new slip ons because they have made a design change to the baffles also
