Default Stock wheels

The stock wheels on a Road King Custom ( slotted alloy) or (profile laced) is one considered to be better than the other. Or is it just a matter of choice?

slotted alloy seem to increase squeal with stock rotors.

I think the laced wheels run the tube in the tire which isn't good for repairs out on the road.

Haven't heard that before. I have several customers including my own bike that has the alloy wheel and no complaints about squeal. No more than what MOCO calls normal. Remember that all H-D's spoke wheels use aluminum hubs. All stress from acceleration and braking are transfered from the brake caliper, pads, to the rotor through the aluminum hub, spokes, rim and then tire to the pavement, etc. Aluminum is fairly soft. Spoke maintenance should be performed more than what MOCO recommends. If the spokes become loose one time the hub is damaged and needs replaced. More maintenace with spokes and tube replacement. If spokes are chosen, get the wheel and tire coverage offered through extended to protect you in the future.

road king custom and the street glide owners have the same complaint about excessive noise squeal rim/rotor set up moco will not correct the rim they suggest flipping rotors.

I have the slotted cast wheels, and had horrible noise. They first added silicon/foam to the cavity of the chrome dome thingy (technical term ). And that stopped the noise. I did have the rotorsswitched, but that was only because it was in warranty and I did not want the noise coming back, and it hasn't. Spokes seem to require more maintenance than my wheels, and my wheels are cast, so no tubes. Which, as mentioned above, makes plugging the tire possible on the road, if you need to. Other than that, I think it is preference. I prefer the look of my wheels over any other stock hd wheel I have ever seen, but that is just my opinion.
