Default Tool Rental???

Does anybody know if you can rent the specialty tools you need for odd things like removing and replacing the internal cam bearing, etc. I thought I saw that somewhere, did a Google search and came up empty. Any ideas? I don't mind buying but how often am I going to replace internal cam bearings???

Later,
RJ

Let me tell you I have always thought that would be great if you could rent some of the costly tools you only plan to use once. But, that takes moeny out of the hands of the dealers. I use to rent tools from a local car parts place for my car but have never found a bike shop that would consider it.

I have a combo tool for 99-06 inner cam bearings and will be getting the 07+ tool this winter. I've rented it out once already to someone on this forum for cheap.

get the blind bushing puller set at AZ along with a slide hammer (refundable deposit). only a couple of swipes and the bearings come right out. freeze the new ones over night and you can gently tap them in using the camshaft and a rubber hammer.

Funny you should mention it!
I work on an air base as a civilian for my main job and income.
But I got to thinking a couple nights ago.
what to do with all the tools I have accumulated over the years?
So I'm planning on opening a tool rental shop in Jan 2008.
Going to start with the tools I have and expand as the need arises.
I have two of the cam bearing removers and installers, Chain locker
and some others. Will be expanding more in the future.
But only works if you're local to me.
Will be adding some other specialty tools (some not needed but make the repairs easier)
