Just bought an 08 SG and while at the dealer today I noticed a SG Demo bike with 103 kit and Supertrap mufflers. I asked if they would fire it up and they took it outside and ran it around in the parking lot so I could listen to it. I don't know anything about decebels but these Supertraps with stock baffles are clearly and absolutely much louder than stock. I will be doing a search for them later tonight. I want sound somewhere in the middle of the spectrum and the ST's sound like what I want. Don't know how much the103 kit added to the sound.

After I had them installed I noticed an increased amout of vibration especially at idle.
Likely too much pressure against one or both rear mounts. The mufflers should just about want to hang right there on their own, if possible, using the rear mount to merely maintain that orientation instead of actually creating it.

The larger engine will make a noticeable difference. That's why I mentioned earlier that the SEs were on an 88 and my Rushes were on a 96.
I traded out the stock muffs for the supertrapp se's and let me tell ya...they sound awesum!!!! nice deep but mellow rumble like a harley should sound....not tinny like the harley se's. one of my buddies had the v&h ovals and they were loud and tinny so he went with the thunderheader 2-1's.....if i didn'trun the supertrapps i'd definitely run the t-headers. my rk has the D&D's and as stated before i'm not please with sound, quality or fitment!
The originator of this thread asked about the sound of the Supertrapp's with True Dual headers. I don't think he ever got an answer as most of the responders either said they didn't have True Dual headers or posted a sig photo of a bike with OEM headers. I toowonder what the experience has been with duals/Supertrapp SE's.
I know that the SE Street Performance (07A suffix) on a TC96 with dual header pipes sound like a jackhammer when on the throttle. Not a very pleasant sound. They do sound great at low RPM though.......but how much time do any of us spend there?
I have supertrapps with a pcIII and true duals, I love them, at idle it sounds sweet, for sure louder than stock but not like my old v&h I had on it. when getting on it it sounds great and at 70 mph it mellows and I hear mostly wind and radio until I crack it open. You cant go wrong, best of both worlds
i had them, but couldnt take the jack hammering at 60+ mph. Otherwise they sound real nice for a medium loudness pipes. i wentwith v&h slash cuts, should've bought them first.
The Supertrapp se performance slipons have a much nicer sound than the stock slipons. I purchased mine from fuelmotto as part of a package deal. They are not offensive to your ears while on long rides. I'm switching to a 2 into 1 system and will have a set for sale. PM me if interested.
