My map is still self learning but my initial MPG went from 42 to 32 when I installed the TMax. Their Customer Service is top nootch and after talking to Pat I changed the map and reinitialized the module. So we will see what it ends up being after this week. Hope it increases but if it doesn't it still runs a whole lot better than it did with the SERT and a dyno, and I can tweak it myself without paying a tuner to get it where he wants it.
I have an 07' Ultra, 4000 miles, with the Tmax Autotune and the RH True Duals. I got consistant 33 mpg. Most of my riding has been back and forth to work. About 5 miles 1 way, on a FM road 65 MPH 1 stoplight. In the spring took a roadtrip to Big Bend with V&H Ovals and stage one upgrade. Got 40-43. Bike runs great now with new exhaust and computer on it but would like a little better mileage. I am sure when I take it on my next trip I will get much better. T.
michigan, flat land riding, back roads, around 55mph most of the time.
I too am in michigan. stock '07 RG and im only getting about 36-40 mpg..i rife much the same way. not too much highway , but a lot of the back roads, 40mph-65mph..although i admitim a big guy, but ive read posts where some tourers are getting 40-50 mpg riding two up...
I have an '07 RK Classic with a Thundermax installed. The map is for a stock bike, which it is. I average 40-45 mpg (more toward 45) either riding briskly one- up, or a bit more calmly with the better half on the back. This is in the Rockies. I don't recall seeing any drop in mileage with the Thundermax installation, but it sure does run better. Unfortunately, it didn't seem to help too much with the heat issue. Recently, I installed a K&N air filter, (stock filter was passing dirt) and that didn't seem to affect mileage at all. Bike has about 3,400 miles now.

You mention that you are getting your mileage in the Rockies. My experience has been that anytime I go up to the Rockies (I live in Kansas) my mileage gets much better. Higher elevations improve it considerably. Before I installed my bigbore kit and was running a stock 88 cu in engine with Stage 1 intake/download, and Fullsac true duals, I was averaging 40 or so across the plains of Kansas. But up in the Rockies it would go up to the mid 50s. I have not been back to the Rockies with my bigbore (96 cu in) and TMax/AT, but I would suspect that since right now I am geting low 30s, it would go up into the mid 40s in the Rockies.
I would bet that after I get my ignition timing adjusted right, my fuel mileage will get back close to what it was. I do not expect it to get completely back though. That is because I believe that when it was getting such good mileage, it was also running too lean. Adding fuel is reducing the gas mileage, but it is also running it cooler which increases reliability.

That's how mine is. Here at sea level in Los Angeles I get 35mpgs. Up in the Rockies I got 45mpgs. Riding slow on the range doing demos and giving Ride Like A Pro instruction I get in the low 30s. For me mpgs are all about where, and how I ride.

Interesting-- Iwould assumethat the TMax leans the mixture for the thinner air at altitude, but then you would have to twist the throttle farther to make the same power. Normally aspirated piston aircraft fly more efficiently when they gain some altitude even though they lose power (and you manually lean the mixture for altitude), but there's less drag on the airframe in the thinner air. I don't think we're going fast enough to take advantage of that! Now I'm really curious to seewhat will happen when I take a trip down near sea level. Maybe with the price of gas I'd better stay in the mountains-- except that last night it was twenty degrees!
I getting a slight tip in ping on a moderate acceleration. I have the cold start surge fixed and no to tweak the ping issue. I'm assuming the bike is still running a bit lean. Mileage is approx 36-38 range. So far I've ben pretty happy with the Tmax. I've been adding stuff on the bike in stages and then remapping and it's been great. Next is the 103 kit.
