I have my Ultra in at the dealers now for the 10,000 check. I have almost 10,000 on the rear tire and it looks like I need a new tire. My dealer told me to stay with the Dunlop until about 20,000.
They said the front tire did not need replacing and I should not mis match the brands. Example .. like a Mich on the back and a Dunlop on the front. What do you all think?
I was in same boat, at 9k rear needed replacement but front was still ok, but after talking to dealer and checking, front we figured it was good for about another 5 k. So if I replaced the back with dunlop, 5 or 6 k down the road I again would be there for what, another dunlop. Just dumped both and put on the michelins. No regrets, great tires.
I've got over 3K on my Michlin Commanders on my Ultra and I will take off a new set of Dumlops and put on Commanders then sell the crappy Lops. The Commanders ride smoother, no driveway jolt from a 1" curb/drive. And they handle great!!
