Went riding the other day it was a hot day and I was out most of the day and decided to take the interstate home. I was cruising between 80 to 85 mph and the bike blew oil out of the air cleaner. The bike is a 2007 and has only 3000 miles on it.. is this normal? Of course we all know everytime we take the bikes to Harley it's always just the "NATURE OF THE BEAST"
that's the explanation for all of the defects in their machines. I just installed an Arlen Ness Big Sucker would this cause it?
I think that sometimes when the crank is over filled it will do this.
Better to have it a little under the fill line that right at, that way you have room other wise, it will go out at the easiest place it can.

I overfilled my oil one time and it pukked out the air cleaner. It doesn't take much, I was only about two pints over full.

It's just the nature of the beast. HD recirculates blow by oil through the air intake - if your oil tank contains 4 qts, it'll blow excess oil out the air cleaner until the tank's down to a little over 3 1/2 qts. Never fill the oil tank to its capacity (4 qts). Remember, the oil tank simply holds oil to circulate throughout the engine - 2 qts would probably work - it's a dry sump engine - not many more of them around - aircraft radial engines use the same principal along with a single crank pin, thus, their unique sound.
Sorry to segway, but anyone have a fix toa leak/weeping banjo bolt that holds an SE air cleaner on? I changed all the parts, bolt, washers, still a drop or two after each ride. No oil in the filter or inlet to speak of, filled to 3.5 or so qts. Only the front one leaks at the washers, it's torqued to spec. Is there any rubber/silicon made washers for the banjo bolt? Maybe a little silicon when I install them? I'm not using JB...
