Class Action??
captjon, teach people on here then! That's the right attitude. I'm all for changing things that I want to change. If the heat issue caused the motor to fail, yes, it's a design flaw and the moco should fix it. But, if some people don't like it, sorry. Yes I am a chest pounding gorilla that likes heat, rough idle, and vibrations.
Well I am an engineer (different field but...) and here's my $0.02.
This lovable old 45 degree air-cooled V is a dinosaur, just like me. It's still alive & kickingtoo in spite of it all. I bought an '07 because I also believe their only recourse is to abandon this engine design and I want to have one more before Igo away too.
I don't care about the "no choice" increase in heat generated by this beast.I don't think it's too noisy eitherand the heat is tolerable - especiallyfor us individuals that don't have to submit toas many Laws as MOCO.
In fact, I thinkthis stroker and the six speed is agreat example of ingenuity - giventhe ancient design involved. Just a few tweaks after big-brother wasn't watching fixed everything I needed to fix.
MOCO wasn't permitted to ship it "fixed" so doing that was my problem (a problem created by big-brother) and I'm okay with MOCO over that. I am also going to do the IDS at first tire change and willgo with an oil cooler too but that's okay. As for the IDS, no matter how much R&D or factory testing gets done, there's no substitute for "rubber on the road" or "proof of the pudding" either. Maybe we should be satisfied that these additions are indeed good things to do them even if it is"after the fact"... 2007 was indeed a "first year" product.
