I have looked through the archives and find nothing on the Harley Profile Front End Lowering kit Part# 54599-02. I'm just wondering if any one has used this kit and is it worth the extra $100 over a standard Progressive lowering kit??
this is the kit I got--waiting on the shipment from Chicago HD ($80) and chrome front end hope tohave the install done by the end of the week.

I just did the Progressive kit last weekend. I'm not sure how much difference there could be between the two. With the Progressive kit you get the 2 main springs, 4 1" springs that accomplish the lowering (use 2 to drop 1" or all 4 to drop 2"), 4 washers and two pre-load spacers (which were 1" pvc pipe). Other than the pvc pipe I'm not sure there is really much room for improvement. I'm pretty sure Progressive know what they're doing when it comes to the main springs. Maybe someone will chime in about the Harley version.
I just did the progressive front spring conversion as well. I went 2" since I'm going 21 front and 16 rear. Something Odd I noticed, Progressive stated to put the close wound portion of the springs UP and the HD Springs that came out had the close wound section down.
Just thought it was odd. That 1/2" PVC Spacer and two washers were a pain in the butt!

The Harley kit has a a new damper installed in the left fork, in conjunction with a rod that limits overextension and new progressive woundsprings.I have installed it on my 07 Road King and it works great. Not to knock Progressive, I have Progressive rear shocks, but after looking at both systems I went with HD because it changes not only the spring length but dampening as well.
I used the Harley kit on my bike. I even went so far as to change out the cartridge style system and use the spring only system just like Harley has done for all 2007 up Roadglides. I used Screamin Eagle fork oil with my install and the bike rides much smoother now. It was well worth the trouble.
