Default electrical connectors on

my speed sensor got wet and all hell broke loose. thank god i got the bike home and consulted my trusty search function here.. There were alot of entries from folks just like me who were caught in a little bit of moisture and the speedo died, stereo volume control acts up, odometer died(i saved 400 miles on that one) and the turn signals wouldnt cancel. So i take the bike to the dealer( warranty still in effect) computer history codes reveal 501 502 and 505. All dealing with the VSS or speed sensor. So dealer removes speed sensor, cleans the corroded contacts and then the kicker... they finally applied dielectric grease to all of my electrical contacts... shouldnt this be a factory or dealer setup step? Now bike runs great! Like it should right! Long story shortcheck your connectors and add some dielectric grease to em, otherwise keep your showbike in the garage.

It's on the trans on the right side sitting on the bike towards the rear of the unit on top and held on with a single bolt. On the 07 it's hard to see, almost under the starter.

This is the 07 and later bikes

Hay thanks for the pictures.... Found it and now checking all connections...... Nothing like doing the dealers job and yet paying them for my work!
