You need to take it to another dealer. My '08 Ultra is bone stock as well. It does not knock, will roll with clutch disengaged and I can find neutral without significant problems. It just sounds like it needs some adjustments your dealer can't make. And don't hold your breath waiting on the service manual. They've been promising me one "in two weeks" since September.

so just order the durn thing from zanotti's, you'll have spent less and gotten it in less time.

That is Zannotti's. To be fair, it's not their fault. Moco keeps slipping delivery to the dealer. Last I was told was 15 Nov, but I saw another say they're looking at a 30 Nov delivery.

oooh, bummer. never had anything back ordered that long from them before. even during the 'great tire shortage of 2006' i was able to get a tire from them in less than 2 weeks..... good luck.

One loud knock on startup - compensator, and it may knock a couple of times if the engine is about to stall. HD says it is normal. I dont buy it but there is not anything they will do about it.
