Has anyone had problems with their starter? Today we were out riding and 3 times just to crank the darn thing we had to beat on the starter. You know its bad when you pay 20thousand for a bike and you need a 1 dollar rubber mallet to beat it with.
Friend of mine with an 07,stage II,20k on board(if that matters) has a bad starter. Never used a rubber mallot but has to push it behind a building to start it so it dosnt scare anyone
PD problem with starters was they needed a compression release if i remember correctly.
However, i do know of a couple of people who have had problems with there 07 starters. One has had the screws loosen up a couple of times and burned out one (it was a 110") bike wouldn't start as the starter would bind...
PD bikes are 103's running slightly higher compression. They recalled all of ours so they could install compression releases. We had fried quite a few starters. (And a few clutches too!)
