I bought the Standard specifically beacuse I knew I could "make" a pseudo (call it fake if you want - doesn't matter to me) SG. I love the SG's looks, but a radio isn't a priority. I've already put a different windscreen on mine and have the SG seat. It's close to a SG already and I can chrome what I like as time goes on. The best part is that I can make it MINE.
AND>>> I saved a ton of money switching to Geico and staying at the Holidy Inn Express last night...[:-]
Your absolutley correctthatthe original question has been lost because the difference on the bikes was only $20 .....

I think the original question has been lost.
Why is the SG so expensive compared to the EGC? EGC is the same bike with more options for $85.00 additional. Yes I know, the SG is dropped via different shocks but it isn't like the EGC doesn't come with shocks.
The EGC has for another $85.00 over the SG
**Auxilary Lamps
**Tour Pack
**Front Fender Chrome
**Bag Rails
The question has nothing about taste and which bike you like better it has everything to do with the price between the bikes and what you get for your money.

I am really liking Street Glides but how is it that I can buy a Electra Glide Classic for only $20 more, heck you get a ton more on the bike for that $20, the riding lights, rear top case, lots of chrome (not my thing but it is extras), guards on the rear cases, air ride suspension...
Man I love the looks of the Street Glide, but the I think it would be stupid to buy onewhen I can get a Electra Classic and strip off the extras sell them and make it a Street Glide, come out $$ ahead.
Is there something I am missing?
Harley is a business, and it can charge anything it wants for a SG. It is all about supply and demand and last time I checked, nobody gives anything for free.
If you can afford it and like the SG, then get it. We all have our doubts after buying a very expensive toys and unless you have no cage and use your Harley as your only source of transportation, then tough, because that is what our bikes are, luxury toys.
Harley is nottwisting your arm to buy it, so stop complaining and go out and ride, have fun, and ride safe.
