Don't own a full face helmet, nor anything heated but will ride down to about 40 if it is not too awful far. Starte snowing here today, and high was 37. Bike is put away and tore apart for engine work.
Wife wont ride much below 55, but those temps are great for short hops to look at the fall foliage.
If there is any constellation- I "have" to ride year round for my job. I know cold!!!! LOL
...I was down on Boyltston Street in Boston for the New Years eve First Night parade. It was about 10'F. Bunch of big ole Irish "motorcycle special detail"cops all hanging on the street corner, "controling the crowd" ...they were cold. I asked if they ever heard of Gerbings, and they looked at me like I had two heads.
Man, it might not be department regulation provided, but I wouldn't be leaving home without them, if I had that duty.
Ride to work every day, no matter the weather. When it's in the 30's though I do need that coffee and 10 minutes to warm up the white fingers. Otherwise, I'm warm with the leather coat and Harley raincoat over it., and 3/4 helmet. Don't want gerbing or any plug in. Still looking for recharge battery gloves.
I've been riding to work daily this year, and it was in the 30's this morning. Wore my Walls snowsuit, and it was plenty warm. My 3/4 helmet let a little bit of cold in around my eyes and nose, mainly because I can't pull my neck gaiter up over my nose...fogs up my glasses. Other than that, no problem. I could ride colder, I think.
