How do you pass emissions testing?
I don't see them testing bikes anywhere in the near future. Not even here in **** California. This is the same state that charged me a $300 smog impact fee for buying a car that came from Arizona. Three years later they mailed me a check for $700 and change. It was my $300 paid back to me with intrest. They determined it was unlawfull to charge a smog impact fee.

Arizona - just pay for the tags on-line, no emissions test required anymore.

In California I heard something about they put oil coolers on the bikes and got them to pass emmissions. Did anybody else hear this and know if it's true.
EPA Enviromental Protection Agency. Who are they protecting us from Al Gore and the movie stars.
There has to be a way we can contact AMA and vote to have the EPA folks and Al Borevoted down along with the movie stars supporting it. Who put the EPA in charge to do all this ? Is it not reversable.

PA is in the process of repealing the smog check in many counties.
And just like the dude with the bugs in his teeth said, if repairs cost over $400, you get a waiver and are allowed to continue driving your smog spittin', smoke stackin', Cordoba 440 until the blue hair behind the wheel can't mash the peddle anymore.
So, what's the point?
if they want to do something about air quality.lets start with the shthole 3rd world countrys with no pollution controls...the wind blows the crap over from china and mexico and we all get to breath it

Actually it's been pretty well proven that lawn mowers are far, far worse than the average, modern car by like a 10:1 margin, so the "weed eaters next" thing is not only accurate, but due.

chornbe, the breathing thing isn't over rated, but the affect of motorcycle emissions on it is VERY OVER RATED. The EPA is just another govt' agency full of bored non productive morons that couldn't last a week working for a company that has a bottom line. When you pile a bunch of people up and give them a pay check funded by an endless income, (your tax dollars), they tend to look for a way to justify their job. Bikes this week weed eaters next week.

Lets see, everone you know, and everyone I know, get upat least 5 days a weekand drive all manor of multi cyclender gasoline and diesel vehicles towork and back. But you believe that a single cyclinder B&S lawn mower used for 30 mins. once a week, only in the summer for a lot of us somehow needs to be regulated? You need to read less and think for your selfmore. I bet your still trying to figure out how the government keeps finding all the gas after the shortage we had in the 70's.
In Massachusetts it's all about decibels. This is from the DMV Q&A:
My motorcycle was failed for illegal pipes. What's legal?
Generally speaking, you must have a baffle in the exhaust system of a motorcycle. Straight pipes are illegal, and your motorcycle must meet certain noise requirements. For motorcycles manufactured before 1986, 102 decibels is the legal limit, 99 decibels for motorcycles manufactured after 1986.
