The guy wasn't sure about MCs. I was in AZ and at that time they did test them. Guess they stopped it there since I left. The Indian I had would not have passed without some major carb adjustment.
Do you watch TV ? What do you thing all these advertisements and shows on going green are pushing at us. Emmissions and saving everything. Their push is already starting.
Do y'all actually get your bikes inspected? I got one on my new bike so I could get it registered, but I have never had a bike inspected before and I've never gotten stopped for it either. I guess I'm just a scofflaw.
You need to have your bike inspected every year - if you don't - get pulled over - you get a ticket....... again in TEXAS(The GREAT State) they only check lights - horn - insurance - I had my bike checked in both Dallas and Houston - never a problem......
Dependes on what state your in. Here in VA there is a safety inspection that a lot of people ignore, no big deal, but the emmisions inspection is required and you can't renew your tags without it. A dead inspection sticker might not get you pulled over but dead tags will.
We are lucky so-far here in Lane County Oregon.
No smog or safety inspection required on mc or cages.
I heard Portland does smog inspections. Not for sure ...
I live in Goodyear AZ. I had to get emissions testing done on both my Honda RC 51 as well as my Road King Classic. The do a sniffer test on Motorcycles. They only test an idle. With a Fuel Injected bike you should not have any issues. They did not do any sort of a Visual inspection on the bike. I have aftermarket pipes as well as Power Commanders on both bikes. Both passed easily. The only bikes I see having issues are the older carb models. They can emissions test all they want, now if they start looking at the stamps on the aftermarket exhaust that say not street legal or race only, then I will be SOL. Then again that is why I always keep my stock pipes, just in case I have to do the switcharu come testing time
[sm=icon_beat.gif] This thread is just BS rumors . Show us some real printed state or federal document that states that motorcycles will now be emmision tested.[sm=proof.gif] . If natzifornia isn't doing it you can bet your **** no other state will anytime soon.
