I have a 2007 FLHTCU that I purchased new5-5-07without a security system. 5055 miles later, I decided to buy the Smart Security System with an extra Key Fob.Part numbers 68200-07, and 68926-07. My question is, can I install and program this myself? I do most all of my own maintenance and even quite a bit for others and consider myself to be at least somewhat competant both with mechanics and electronics. I am by profession a broadcast engineer, not a rocketscientist, but at least somewhat electro-mechanically inclined. I know to remove the TSM module and replace with the TSSM module and install the antenna, but could someone explain to me what I need to do after it is physically installed?
I did search the forum, but so far have not found any results for the smart system for the 07s, only the factory security systems with the push button key fob. This system aparently uses an RFID type system.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Rick
You can do the install yourself but a hd shop will have to program it for you. When you install the module the bike will not run until it is programed. The wayI overcame that was rode to the shop and installed in the parking lot. Then pushed it inside for them to program. They only charged me a half hour labor to program it. Again you cannot program it yourself it has to be put on the digital technician at a hd shop.
