Hi guys,
Do i need to install high tensile Cyclinder head bolts on my cases as i have gone to the 117 barrels and pistons and if so- which brand and a link/prices if possible please.
The other question i have is what sort of clutch setup do i need on the Street Glide now that i'm upping the Tq/Hp. Will run down the strip once in a while and plenty of fun off the traffic lights.
Look forward to the replies and would like to know what you guys with the Big Inch HQ kits are doing on the above.
I am going with a Baker KKK, but had considered the Primo ProClutch. I've been told that the KKK with the softest springs will hold 150ft/lbs of torque and has lever pull like a jap bike.
I don't know which studs are best, but their never a bad idea versus stock IMHO. But I can tell you that my Primo Rivera clutch isda shiznitI can hammer this thing whenever and wherever and not an issue at all with 113HP and 118TQ. Just adjusted it last week when I changed the fluids and happy as a clam with it. My buddy installs one with every 117'/124" he does, and he builds a lot of big inch bikes.
Stock heads bolts are just fine. I looked at the Baker KKK clutch and it is impressive, but they don't amke for 07 and up yet. Most likely will go with the AIM VPC-92, but am still looking. Problem is with the SE spring, clutch effort will increase about 7%, not bad, but would rather stay the same or decrease.
You could probably get away with the VPC 92 with the stock spring and still reduce your clutch effort.
Try the A.I.M. lock-up clutch kits. They are $295.00, installs without removing the outer primary and are all anyone needs. No increased clutch pull, feels like stock, locks up like performance clutch, half the price. Have used in motors with 140 ft lbs torque with no slip.
