I just installed my IDS from Zannottis. All Harley parts. I seem to have some what of a vibration at higher speeds that was not there before. Especially when I let off the throttle. Anyone else have that problem since putting on the IDS?????????????
as stated, it may be alignment. If everything went on ok, and no extra parts, you should be good. The alignment will affect the way the belt rides on the sprockets (pulley's) and also the way the brake pads sit on the caliper. Find a place to measure the center of the axle to a reference point equal on both sides. Don't forget to check belt tension also. The dynas had a little hole in the swingarm forward of the rear axle you could use it as a measurement point. I haven't dove into that area yet on my sparkly new road king..
Check, check, and double check. You may find something.
06 up impossible to mis-alighn ,,,I think? theres isa do-hickey thingy ramp whatchma call it that forces it in alighnment. My guess is now that your bike is smoother/quiter with the ids your hearing a non related item?

The cams on the 07 make the alignment pretty easy. Check to make sure you put the spacers arein the right place and make sure the rubber dampeners are meshed together properly etc and it should be good to go. Like voodoorug says you may be noticing something non related now that it is quieter like I did. My licence place bracket was making a vibration noise that I had not heard before. Other than that I have not heard of anything else.

A coat hanger, a "sharpie" marker, pop the chrome plugs out of your swingarm pivots, bend about an inch and a half right-angle leg on one end of the coat hanger and stick it into the pilot hole in the end of the swingarm pivot. Mark the center of the axle with the sharpie. Check the other side. My eccentric washers do not match side-to-side but the center distances between the pivot and shaft do...
It is not anything I am hearing or not hearing. It is actually a vibration I feel in the floorboards. Worse at higher speeds and decellerating..........
