My A$$ can't take that many miles all at once and I don't consider me an old fart. I like stopping after about 150-175 to fill up, and a quick stretch. With 6 gal I'm assuming about 240-250 mileson a tank full at 70mph
drumsab:
I would bet that there are several aftermarket companies that make a tank that would fit. I put a 6 gallon stretched tank on my '97 Heritage. However, due to the curvature of the tank and the location of the fuel valve, I could only use about 5 gallons. It cost a lot of money for that project - tank, paint, fuel valve, fuel lines, etc. and I only gained about 1/2 gallon of extra useable fuel.
However, the looks of the stetched tank were worth the $$$.
I realize that the tank for the Ultra is different than for a Softtail, but if you are determined to do this, it is only a question of how much money you are willing to spend.
It would definitely be a custom job. Too many things got moved around for the '08's. Lots of work and money, but it would be your chance to do something interesting. See where it fits on your list of changes. This will not provide much return for the money invested, but you could do something cool.
