2 into 1 plus ghost?
ORIGINAL: ffb
may i suggest that you check out the RB black hole 2 into 1 . they are extremely quiet .
i wanted a quiet one and this is what i settled for after searching and studying all. a pian to install but i paid to get it done.
the owner is a mess to deal with but he makes a good product and has a great site ....go read it .
as far as hp and torque is concerned ,you will not notice any gains other than after you hit 5,000 rpm.
actually as the bike is set up ,it provides great power.
there will be little improvement and you can go read all the magazine articles on this topic and actual tests that have been conducted and as published i found very little to gain here.
but, a pc 3 will help you bring down the heat on the bike.and the 2 into 1 wil also help here .

I'm not quite sure what your taliking about not being able to tell the difference until 5000rpm???????
With a 2-1 you will have alot more TQ in the lower rpm then you will have with True Duals.....................You should be able to feel it the first time you wack the trottle. If you don't something is wrong with your tune..............

it is difficult to feel the diff.
that is how good the new 96 incher is . there is little improvement to be gained when you do the upgrades unless if you go to a 103.
to give you actual numbers you can go back on my posts where i gave an accurate rpm by rpm blow of the bike with stock with a pc3 added on ( please note that when the comparison was done ,i had already installed a pc3 ) versus 2 into 1 with kn air filter and reprogramed on a dyno pc3.
ie
hp runs all the way near stock with a pc3 from 1.500 rpm to 4,200 rpm
at 4,200 rpm then the hp with stock declines and the redline dies at 5.500 while the 2/1 then keeps going up to 75.99 hp at 5,300 and goes to 6,200 while the hp stays at 74 thru 72 hp up to the redline.
the torque peaks at 88.88 at 3,500 rpm in stock with pc3
with the 2/1 then it is 90.69 at 3,500 also
the torque in stock form starts at 68 lbs. at 1,300 rpm
with 2/1 it is 75 lbs at 1,450 rpm and from 1,800 rpm the torque curve stays together for both stock and 2/1 all the way to max torque and it starts to decline at 4,000 rpm
here the stock dies off at 5500rpm while 2/1 keeps going thru 6,000rpm at 60 lbs and then dies off at 6150 rpm.

I have the d&d fatcat with a quiet baffle on a built 103, and it is NOT quiet. More quiet than the regular baffle, but ifyou are looking for quiet, I would look elsewhwere As far as the looks and quality go, the fatcat is outstanding; as good a looking pipe as I have every had. Just too loud for me, and it will be coming off soon.

Hey MaineUltraClassic, where did you get your pipes from and about how much? How's your DTT doing, love mine so far. Tim

I'm loving the DTT system, works great, runs better then the PCIII ever did..........auto-tunes are here to stay.

Nobody seems to mention the V&H Pro Pipe. I installed the Pro Pipe and the more I ride the more I love the sound of the PP. At idle the pipe is fairly quiet but when you get on it the sound is impressive. I got a couple of buddies with Fat Cat and they are starting to like the sound of the PP better. It sort of grows on you without overpowering everybodies eardrums. My 2 cents!
