Only used the tape on one of my windshields as I have a couple. It helps a little on the scratches but for the most part it is all hidden anyway. You have to make sure the windshield is fitted all the way down on those tabs or you will have that gap. Had the same problem, just loosen it up and wiggle it around a litte so it seats properly.
