A jury in Indiana just sentenced a 26 year old Meth Head that killed three bikers last year to 15 Years. He was convicted of 2nd degree manslaughter.
Doesn't seem to be near enough for causing 1 death let alone three. He was impired due to drugs and crossed center line. Everyone be careful. God bless
the victims families.
Lost my Best Friend to a Meth Head 6 yrs ago - On his way home from work - Sucker just busted through a light and hit my friend broadside-hip high and sent him and his Putt flying over 80'. Then took of running and gave the police & medic's a hard time taking him down
They gave him 11yrs total (He's due for parol next Feb - as it's time and a 1\2 in California) SUCKS!!!
In Indiana it is also 1 for 1. 1 day off for 1 good day. You can also complete your degree in prison and you get additional time off for that. As a former LEO I just shake my head at some of this crap.
I didn't know your friend nor the three that were killed here. But the time just doesn't seem long enough. I know everyone is sorry but sometimes sorry just doesn't get it.
This just recently happened in Tulsa. The downed biker was a 4th grade teacher here in Broken Arrow. The lady that hit them turned herself in the next morning and confessed that she had been to 3 different bars and drank many many drinks. Very very sad!!!
(TULSA, Okla.) November 10 - A woman turns herself into
police in connection to a hit and run accident that left five
people dead.
The hit and run happened Friday night around 11 p.m. near
12th and Memorial.
The victims were actually trying to help someone when the
accident happened.
A witness says a lady was leaving the Backyard Bar on a
motorcycle and fell after slipping on some gravel and hit her
head.
Several people rushed over to check to see if the woman was
okay.
They called 911 and they say the operator said not to move the lady.
Eventually cars driving by the scene started to pull over.
We're told a truck that was traveling at a high speed didnât pull over and went past the stopped
cars hitting five of the six people.
One of those people trying to help the injured woman was Jimmy Martin who says he lived a
nightmare.
"Hearing that truck hit all these bodies. And watching it as it goes,â Martin recalls.
It all started as people where leaving the Backyard Bar.
A woman fell off her bike as she was leaving and Jimmy says that's when people ran to the
middle of the street to help her out.
Martin says he was on the phone with 911 when he heard someone yell.
If you check the federal laws you will find that you cannot get a degree while in prison. You can get a certificate. There are certain classes that you cannot take while in prison. This was changed in 1996. In order to keep someone in prison with a manslaughter charge just protest. It requires to be a family member. I know there are different laws in different states but federal laws are the same.
It saddens me to see someone die or get harmed by a drunken/druged driver. We-bike riders-have enough problems with sober/clean dirvers.
