Has anyone installed a unqie music system? here is the link. Or what have you installed and do you like the result. I am thinking about linking a ipod system on mine. http://www.uniqcycle.com/?Click=2
I had a 1997 RoadKing - I bought the speakers from JM corp - hooked up the IPod - ran that system for 6 years until I sold the bike. They were an easy install and looked very good on the bike. I have seen those little funky ones and the questions I have - can you hear them at 80???? I went with the ampliefied speakers so I could hear them at 80 miles per hour....I had no problem hearing them......they worked great and I would do it again.
I, personally, wanted to stay away from the speakers mounted on the handlebars. For my winter project I was going to add speakers, and an amp to my saddlebags. Everything is enclosed, so no one would know until they heard the music pumpin'. Just an option for you, but it does not seem to cost as much as the ones you are looking at, and I have heard the sound is great. I decided to build up my motor, instead. Well, that has turned out to be more costly than I had planned, but I already bought most of the parts, so there is no turning back, now.
I agree with papatravis. I did 2 6x9's in the bags and a amp. since you dont have a deck, you can run the ipod and stick in your center console. I dont like the idea of speakers hangin on your bars. Or detach fairing with a deck and 6x9's would be cool too.
I put the Uniq system on my RoadStar and used a Creative Labs Zen instead of an IPod. RoadStar had 3" Big Strait exhausts from Hard Krome - fairly loud. Sounded great even at highway speeds. The system had 150 watts verses the 50 watts in the Rumble Road amplified speakers. Also, the Zen had an FM radio as well as MP3 player. Worked great. Price was right.
However, I did upgrade my sound system to include a 2008 Ultra Classic instead of the RoadStar. Neede more comfort since it is my primary means of transportation.
