I ride year round and this year is no different. but the main thing is I wont be riding the Harley. last year I said this is the last time I wash the bike when its 32 degrees.so I looked thru ebay for what I thought was a deal and found the perfect winter rat. its a '82 goldwing. gots the fairing and a radio plus it was cheap. it can sit and let the rain wash any salt and road crap off of it. dont know why I didn't do this years ago?,,,,,
Well, winter has arrived in Northern Illinois. Now, I'm depressed.
Lived here 4 years now and because of all the salt residue on the roads, the opportunities to get the bike out for short ridesare few and far between for the foreseeable future.
Guess I'll just have to live with starting up the Street Glide once a week and rolling her around the garage to keep things lubed up should the opportunity to ride present itself. Guess I'll have to be thankfull for having a large garage.
Happy Thanksgiving to All in Forum-Land.

Maybe you can put a steel cage or one of those Barrels in your garage that ought to get you through the winter, and entertain the neighbors Spring is right around the corner
Just talked to a buddy in PA who said it was 60 there, said he had just put on 60 miles. However it is only 29 here in Rapid City SD, and I am not that young anymore, sooooooo I'll stay in the house on this box and entertain myself (drinkin' my first crown royal and coke of the holiday) while I'm listenin' to the new one from Alter Bridge.

Yep we have a winner ! No way my bike's going out on the road where salt can find it's way into every nook & cranny....Get a POS ratbike and enjoy.
Here in Ohio I use the time to strip the skins off and clean places I don`t get in the riding season. You would be surprised how dirty it can get under all the body parts. I also use the time to do any additions I want to the bikes. Usually takes up about 2 months to do both mine and the misses bikes. Of course a heated garage helps out a lot!
I am in the same boat as Conq, I have mine ordered and supposed to be in sometime in January. So I will have to look at the zeros for a while up here in Central Michigan. We woke up to 1 or 2 inches of snow this morning. At least it will give me time to put all my stuff on it before spring.
I'm glad I live in Boise it gets cold here but it snows very little and when it does it's gone in a day or 2. If the sun is shining I ride ; with two extra layers of cloths.
