Bought some rush slip in mufflers, they are louder than I like for a touring bike.
Heard the Supertrapp has disc that can be added to quieten the sound down. Has anybody tried the difference in performance and sound in these 2 slip in mufflers. I want a good pipe with not too much noise but performance without resnators in the pipes. Woods performance suggested both pipes along with my builder. Thanks !
PS I have an 08 standard.
lIListening to supertrapp on their web site the mufflers sound like they hae a clacking sound when run on a motorcyle. I thought the disc were used to change the power to different rpm ranges and to help cut down on noise also.
The sound clip on the Supertrapp website is for their Touring SE Mufflers, your correct it's a pop pop pop sound which increases to a jack hammer sound on the open high way. The Supertrapp 2 into 1 Muffler has the disks which can be adjusted for the level of sound and performance you want and sound a lot better than the SEs; if you do a search on this forum you might find someone that has a sound clip. Some don't like the look of a 2 into1 on a bagger, so you might want to look and listen to one before you purchase one.

Had a 2in1 on my wide glide. It was a D&D Fatcat. Just wanted a quieter pipe for it. Was trying to git by without spending as much money. It may not be possible. I may have to wait and save somehow for a 2in1. If you run across the sound clip I would sure like to hear it. Thank's !!
cardboard,,,, I have the supertrapp SE's,,, they dont sound like pop, pop, or a jackhammer!!!!!
I didnt install air or fuel either on my 08,,, run fine!
sound more like a soft,, fffart,,fffart,,,ffffart
what size baffles do you have,,, try smaller ones, like 1.5's in your rush

Got the 1 3/4" I ain't spending any more money on the rush. They sound great if yer younger. Listening to the supertrapp slip in mufflers they got a sound that would drive me crazy.
It looks like for a little more I can go with the 2in1 super megs. If I could just find a sound clip on them.
The are fairly quiet at low rpm when you are just cruising along, but then, when you crack the throttle.. they get nicely louder with a mellow rounded sound with no metallic overtones.
