I am about 225 and I always run some air in the shocks in my EGS. I adjust thepressure for solo riding, two up riding and what not, but I always have air in the shocks. I have about 5000 miles on the bike, and while it could be a little more "sporty", I've never thought it was lacking in comfort.
The front forks could be improvedby changing the springs for progressive rate ones. They are available from Progressive (the US company) or Hyperpro (Dutch), possibly others. The latter supplies a kit of springs and suitable oil for around 100 UKP. My Hyperpro kithas just arrived!
Standard rear shocks bottom out too readily. More air may help, but not much in my experience - my solution is air shocks. I am waiting for my Fournales Magnums to arrive, but Progressive do an alternative. Both claim their models will not bottom out!
