I know I can re-adjust the mounting brackets to change to hard bags. Just curious if all touring modelhard bags have hole to hole dimensions of 13". Current leather bags on bikeare 12 1/8" hole to hole.

Last two digit (after hyphen) usually indicates the year.
They did do a change to a plastic bag vs fibreglass so the digit may change then

The older bags from fl's in the early 90's are different bags completely. They had an area for the battery and oil tank in the front of the right bag. Other than that, you should be able to use most of the later bags.
