I have the Wild-1 575 bar on my 08' Street Glide and I love them. They are wider and come back about 2' more than stock. The bars are not made for the 08' models yet but all you have to do is notch out(dremel tool)the right hand side of the barfor the wire/throttle to fit.
Thank you everyone, I appreciate and respect all of your experience and suggestions. Now I have a good place to start. I try not to let anyone do something that I can do myself. I'm too cheap, or poor to pay the dealership for everything. I'll look into all suggested and let you know how it turns out. Thanks.
I'm told 08's with throttle sensorhave only 1 option and that is HD bars of some kind. Check with your dealer.
Clearly, inthe post 4 above yours ,Sodiee explains what he had to do to make the Wild 1's 575 work with his 08'.
I love my 575's, I highly recommend them, and while your at it remove the fairing mirrors, fill the holes and have the inner fairing painted to match since the 575's are wider and reduce the visibility in your fairing mirrors and you will have the inner fairing out to change the bars anyway.
You're right I guess. I did chrome switch housings and brake and clutch baskets, oil preasure guage and painted the fairing all at once, so I found it easier to work on the bars bolted to my work bench.
