Default Solo seats

Hi all,

Been contemplating a solo seat for my street glide, but I notice when I removed my stock seat I had some chaffing on my rear fender. I might be able to buff some of this out but I think there will be a spot or too that would be noticed. Any ideas or suggestions.

Thanks

Someone had a photo of some type of "bra" for the rear fender, sorry but it escapes me just now and I can't locate his original post - it was in the middle of a thread. Keep looking for an avatar of a bike with a solo seat and two sissy bars - the "bra" is visible between the riders sissy and the rear sissy.

I was in the same boat you are in with the solo seat and my Street Glide. I was affraid that the area on the rear fender would not buff out so I completely nixed the idea of the solo altogether. I ended up having a custom "Gunslinger" style seat made (don't have it yet - it should be in my possession in the next couple weeks. It is a custom made piece).

I figured this way I can have the best of both worlds. It really is intended for a solo rider yet, if someone dared to ride with me they could but it wouldn't be the most comfortable place to be. In any event it will be alot more streamlined looking and narrower than the stock piece plus it will be more comfortable for the long haul rather than the brick for a seat the MoCo puts on there.

Thanks for the info, I'll have to think about this , I just thought it would look pretty good with the solo seat.

Nice looking ride, I think it would look smart with a solo seat.

Mustang as well as several other companies make a rear bib to cover area. They are pretty inexpensive.

I put a solo seat on my RoadGlide and it looks real nice but the marks on the fender wont buff out. Im am living with it for now and Im pretty sure Im the only one who notices it,but when I get the chance Im going to cover it up with a Motherwell rack. They look nice and follow the flow of the fender.

My seat is not a Mustang, it's from this company and I love the comfort and quality.

06Glide and Sooee: It was me. I bought a studded rear fender bib from Mustang, think it cost $39.00. The back hole matched up with the screw hole for the rear pillion, but you can use velcro if you don't have a hole in the fender.
