For all those relocating a License plate and wanting a cheap and clean solution to the need for illuminating the plate at night, I just bought a pair of these and the price could not be beat. I like them because it was such a cost effective and simple solution to the problem on my 06 Road King after making my own relocation bracket. I dont need to replace the lens or tail lamp with a plate window now, and they come in both Silver/Brushed or Black. Granted, shipping (free, fwiw) took about 3 weeks so it must have been sent on the slow boat from.... over there, but for less than $3 I cant complain.
Just spent about 30 mins in the garage wiring these up. For an investment of less than $5, this was an good and enjoyable (and relatively easy) mod to do!
For anyone planning to do this, I spliced off the Blue wire that ran to my tail lamp for my + and the Black wire for the ground. I ran the wires back into the fender from inside the tail lamp, and back out one of the turn signal hole grommets to the bolts.
Now I finally have plate lights!
Here is a (poor) pic, but it is VERY bright and clean.
I'm sure it has been done before but here is a cheap alternative LED light if you don't want to spend $90 on custom dynamic lights. i picked this set up at wal mart for around $12. Slight modification of your tail light assembly is required. nothing that a dremmel can't take care of. Start by removing your old bulb. you will see that the new bulb is slightly bigger than the opening. simply make the hole a little bigger and you have new red LED bulbs that are CAN Bus so they will work properly.
Easy simple cheap way to add a couple extra pouches. I bought the pair of these pouches for around $5, attached it to the door cover with a couple zip ties. Now I have a place to put a pack of smokes that I can access while riding. I put the other pouch on the back of my back rest for the wife. This one I added snaps to the back rest and bag so that I can take it off if needed. I had the snaps and zip ties lying around, so for $5 and maybe a half hour worth of work, probably the best mod I've done, and saved a boat load of $$$, rather than buying the same concept accessories thru the dealer.
Here is the most bang for the buck mod I have done yet! Crankcase breather hose. I cannot take credit for it. jag1886give me this tip so hats off to him!
Normal braid line is not cheap. Last crankcase kit I bought was a braided line from head to head with banjo fittings built in was about $65.00.

Great idea. Where did you buy the pouches especially for $5? I wouldn't have a clue where to start my search.
