Default screen laws?

As the laws are changing to stop the viewing of vidio screens how will this affect the use of GPS units? We use a laptop based unit in our RV and it also has a rear view camera so I would think theses would also be against the law in some states. I would love to buy a unit for the bike but dont want to be stoped because of the use of it.

they are primarily concerned about video movies.
Right now the screen has to be out of line of sight of the driver.

There's a lot of people who shouldn't be driving with just a radio playing, let alone a cell phone or a movie.

Line of sight correct but the devices are no good if you cant see them thats is why I am asking. I think the laws were put into effect because of the video players but like all other things the spill over effect might be great

Good post. I run a Pioneer AVIC N2 in my Road Glide. Obviously the screen is in mine line of sight. Now I use the voice commands more so than the visual aspects of the navigation. With using the voice commands I use a ear phone similar to the type you would use for plain noise canceling. I have often wondered about the Law and the screen being seen/open.

A rear view camera? Man, with all that crap on a bike soon you will need a periscope. I hope he meant GPS. My GPS is on the bars not in my line of sight. I don't think they are going to outlaw GPS units but the same was probably said about cell phones at one time. Get the GPS. Mount it and worry about it when you hear they are shooting people for use.

If you notice, he said he uses a laptop and rear view camera IN THE RV......not the bike.

No puzzled has the full blown video, rear view camera and I think he even has a surround sound system installed.Next is the interface into the FAA radar system.
