Default Fat Baggers

Anybody got/had one of these "Fat" baggers with the 200 tire kit? They worth the money? What about handling and resale? What kind of money we talking? What about service?

I sure would like a bit more meat on the back of my bike. but, going from stock, to 200, it doesn't seem worth the money, to me. now, if they had a 240 kit, that I would be interested in. I have heard a lot of builders say that the 240 is just right, as far as meat, and ridability is concerned.

Good luck with the search... And, since you have a '08, do they even have a kit for your bike, yet?

Yep, I have a kit on my 07. It is easier to install than previous years because of not havingalignment issues with belt up front.Imade the switch to 21" up front at the same time so not sure about the handling of the FBI alone. Mine handles fine, even better than my stock 2000 RKC.
The kit has extremely close tolerances. You still use thestock chrome support that runs from seat downward to mount fender brace. That support has a plastic edge. You cant stick a dollar bill between the edge and the tire. I was really concerned about it but it has never touched.
I put a 17" rear on the back. May have been a mistake not to do an 18. I didnt like a lot of rim showing on the rearand thought that would help. Have read that the difference is so small you cant tell. Not sure.
I do know that with the 17' you have to shave a little off the brake caliper housing to get it to not bump rim. Wasnt a problem either.
The only real issue I have is that to remove tire you have to take brake rotor off too. Same going back on. You have to slide axle thruwheel and then thru looserotor as you slide it into caliper. Sort ofa two man proposition. Just put IDS on so had to do it again, reminded me of that shortcoming.
Value? It is completely cosmetic and have no idea what you would get for it on resale but if it is like mostadd on i would guessit would be depressing. I spent about 4500.00 on mine but that included tires, rims and rotors.
It really looks sweetwith fairingand tour pak removed. To me the proportion of the 21 with the fairing looks odd and the wide fender is hard to see with the tour pak on. That widetire and fender look great to me from the rearregardless.
Gary from Fatbaggers is a real standup guy and doesnt mindtaking his time with you. Bart (shooter64) was looking into taking on his stuff. May want to check him out.

Here is my take. After owning 2 very high HP and TQ Hot Rods.Other than serious Drag Strip launches,I do not see the need for larger rear tires other than the look.I regularly push both my bikes RK's to the limits of the rubber to asphalt connection, with stock sizes,to the point of showering sparks. What more could an enthusiast want than that

Can't say I shower many sparks but the 200 sure is sweet looking, handles & brakes great & hooks up better than stock on a hard launch. Wide tire & air-ride sure attract a share of attention. Well worth the investment, no question.

The bagger I'm building has the wheel/spacer set-up from Fat Baggers. They are great to deal with. I'm skeptical about running the small belt with a 124" motor. I looked into putting a kit on a 99 Roadking I have, but the cost was mighty steep. Me doing the labor, counting parts/paint/wheel/tire, everything else, you are looking at $5K. The 200mm is as big as I would go for performance. I'm still struggling with detachable tour pak/ back rest. I'm using a Rolling Thunder frame and the rails are about an inch wider than stock. I don' know if the kits are like that too. I'm going to have to add the inch to a detachable rack to make it all fit.
