New user here and was looking for any info on the instalation of the Aux running lamps. How hard or intensive they are to install. Any help will be helpfull.
08 Street Glide ( stock ), came off a Duece and am loving the ride on this Glide.
Did this installation on my '04 EG and it's a simple DIY project. One suggestion is to have a slotted 14mm standard or deep socket for use on the nut that secures the passing lamp housing to the bracket. The housings use a threaded sleeve, much like household lamps, and although the housings can be attached to the bracket without the passing lamp wiringpresent, you may want to adjust the passing lamps aim after the initial installation and you will have the wires through the threaded stud in the way. At this time, that slotted socket will allow you to loosen/tighten the nut and adjust the passing lamps' aim. A cheap 14mm socket with a 1/4"-3/8"slot ground in it works fine.
Also, the wiring from the passing lamps and turn signals is threaded though the brackets and inside the fairing; some WD40 squirted in the orifices of the brackets and on the wire conduit makes the threading easier.
Thanks for the heads up info in the install. They are on and putting out much needed night time light. Didn't know about the replaceable bulb and got the halogen lamps for the time.
Sure do like the ride of this bike and with the fairing and the heated clothing I can really extend into the winter months and keep riding.
