Default Still Stock

I have been having an Electra Glide 2007 since July. I have not done anything to the bike except ride it. I love the bike and it runs perfect. No problem with heat or transmission or anything. "What is the groups thinking on keeping it stock. The stock mufflers meet my needs and are getting a little better with time and miles. After riding Hot Rods for many years this bike is just for me and my wife to enjoy. My question is do you think Harley would make a bike that if left stock would hurt the engine and cut down on the long term milage. My local dealer told me it would not hurt a thing, but sometimes I wonder if they say things to benefit their bottom line $. At least they didn't try to sell me the $1000.00 fix.

Stock is good... After all most people leave their cars stock! The things people add are mainly personal preference.... Performance upgrade is also a matter of preference... Stock setup is just what theDoctor ordered...

Chrome, mufflers, enhancements.. Like a woman with her makeup on... Still has the same heart but now on uppers..

BTW during the winter months.... temptation to change things becomes so hard to deal with that you end up yielding to the chrome gods and at least change something!!

At least get the front exhaust pipe completion cover to cover that yellow exhaust pipe showing up down by your right foot..

My dealer (service manager) once told me that most of the trouble free high mileage bikes that come in his shop for an oil change etc. are stock. He claims that stock = trouble free longevity with the Harley motors.

Although I can appreciate some of what others do with their bikes...When it comes to my personal preference I'm definitely not into bling,I don't give a flip if my bike looks the same as someone else'snordo I want to keep tinkering with performance mods. That method served me well on my previous HD and it's my plan for this one.

YOU ARE GOING TO DIE! Just kidding. Most of the upgrades people do are to make themselves happy. Mission accomplished with you.

I wanted to get the heat down a bit from that rear jug, and I wanted to add to the sound of the pipes a tad.. so I ended up doing the Power Comander/AC/Pipes route, which I am very glad I did, as I also added about 10hp and 10ft/lbs as well.

Also did the IDS.

Between the IDS, the Stage 1 and a few functional pieces of chrome I'm done and smiling ear to ear.

If your bike don't run hot and your happy, then maybe just add some small shiny pieces for foot pegs and such, but you pretty much bought a real nice bike right off the floor.

This is pretty much my exact plan too. If stock works for you, it works for us. What is really important is that you are happy. Nice bike!
