There are plenty of people who've never heard of hdforums.com and are quite happy with their stock bikes. This forum costs me about $5000/year. But, my bike is soooo much better than it would be stock.
Harley was constrained by the EPA and wouldn't have designed the intake, exhaust, and fuel management the way they did if they weren't forced to. I would do the Fuel Moto combo PCIII, Rush, Air Cleaner. Not only for performance and sound, but as IClick says, to get the right fuel-air mixture. I did this, and it's a much different motorcycle now. Cooler, more torque, just better.
