Default corbin back rest

thought this would be a good place to ask about the corbin back rest...have you had any problems with it loosening up in the seat mount?....and do you prefer to use the safety screw to hold it or just slide it in and out without removing the seat ( which I am planning on doing)...just wondering about general durability...TIA

The backrest set screw definitely needs a dab of Loctite or it will loosen up.

I have had my backrest about 18 months now. I thought about screwing it down, but I leave it loose because sometimes I like to ride without it. When I am on a long trip I either take it in the room with my tour pack, or just slip it in one of my saddlebags. I have thought about someone grabbing it at Bike Night or something, but I guess I am a little too trusting, plus I do like the convenience of just removing it for a ride.

I just slide mine in when I use it. It is a little loose, but when I'm riding I have my back against it anyway. When I am not using it, it goes in the room or the tour pac.

I snug mine up with the set screw, no Locktite, but then sometimes I ride without it, so i can easily loosen up and pop it off before leaving .
