Wow. Thanks. You guys are great. I've got my gear packed and my camera. I am planning on touring the Joshua Tree park in Palm Desert. If I can ever figure out how to upload pic's I'll share. In the meantime, thanks for the encouragement. It tipped the scales for me.
1100 miles round trip? thats 550 out and 550 back. piece of cake for ya.... i would do it in a heartbeat. in fact, i wish i was doing it, unfortunately, i have no reason to go out that far, and besides, 36* is a tad chilly yeah, i know i could dress for it, but they would still be expecting me at work monday morning boo[:@]
I ride from San Diego to Northern California all of the time 7 -8 hours each direction, rode up one morning for a 1 hour meeting then rode back the same day over 1100 miles in same day with a meeting and late lunch in the middle..... as far as temps, wear the right clothing and who cares what the temp is...
FollowPastor John's advice. Pack a few layers & then just kick back and have fun !!! Can't wait to see the pix !!!
Ditto...and don't feel you should be doing "x" amount of miles riding at a time to get there. Take your time, stop when needed, whenever needed. It's always the journey, not the destination!
Enjoy and ride safe! Post some pics of the trip when you get back and fill us all in.
