big bore argument start
Wanting a little more power so I went to an Indy todayIdon't trust the stealers around here and his recommendation is a big bore kit with
h-d pistons, power commander, 510 cams, polished and ported heads 2500.00 bucks
I already have sert but he said Power Commander was more versatile?
07 Ultra Classic
Sert
V/H Ovals
Ids
I'm new to h/d this year and looking for some suggestions

I suspect the indy doesn't have a dyno, or just doesn't now how to tune the SERT....While I think the PCIII is a good piece of equipment I think its a step down from the SERT....I sure wouldn't throw it away and buy a PCIII. Since the SERT is already married to your bike you can't sell it and recoup any of your money.
Well.... since you asked...
There are plenty of options to consider. For that price, you could get yourself a nice Head-Quarters build too.
Here are two options. They are both 103's, but vary slightly depending on what you would like to accomplish.
1) Sport Touring: http://www.head-quarters-usa.com/sporttouring07.html
"Road Glides and ElectraGlides are comfortable here if you ride your Touring model mostly one up or your Street Glide or Road King two up. If you want the most performace you can get for a heavier bike, this is the place to be. While this package increases compression, it does so in a way that preserves rideability with a personality friendly to heavier "street sleepers". These are very reliable combinations but may require a modification in riding style if less than 93 octane fuel is purchased. Usually this means down shifting to pass (eliminating detonation) instead of just rolling it on. It's recommended to run 93 octane fuel in this package, however, in most cases ignition timing can be adjusted to prevent detonation if you only have 91 octane available."
2) Touring: http://www.head-quarters-usa.com/touring07.html
"If you own a touring model like an UltraClassic, spend most of your time with a passenger and luggage, use as a daily driver, or live in regions with steep grades and only have access to 91 octane fuel, this is a great setup for you. These combinations are specifically designed to put the power band where you need it most for those long trips thru the mountains on the heaviest of bikes while considering the limitations of 91 octane fuel."
In the right hands, the SERT is far better than a PCIII. Keep what ya have!
Also, on the 07, you can use the chain drive version of the cams, as it is not so prone to tensioner failure as the pre-07's were. This also saves ya some $$$.

If you're comfortable spending that kind of money, it's not bad. I would (only my opinion) suggest going with the 510G which will give you the gear-driven cam. I also would think you wouldn't be hurt by sticking with the SERT and could save a few bucks in doing so.
I suggest you find another indy--to tell a customer with a SERT to get a PCIII because the latter is "more versatile" is dishonest.
If you buy an HQ kit using the HQ USA website for your '07 you will get a SERT map for the build and post installation tuning assistance if you need it.

Ever work on your lawn mower?
He said he "didn't use them", but did he say he "wouldn't"? Well.... looking back, this is the same guy that attempted to sell you an inferrior tuning device when you already have one of the best available.
I'm thinking you might wanna look elsewhere, or continue studying and do it yourself. There are plenty of us here that can and will help you through it. I have probably helped at least 20 members do their own "first" build using only the forum, email, and a couple phone calls. It is surprisingly simply.
