Sorry for your misfortune, but you and the bike can be repaired--light rain and a little mud is slick as owl chit.
Thanks for posting the pic of the helmet--why did you decide to start wearing one, especially a full-face? I live in Georgia (a helmet law state) and started with a full-face a couple of years ago and switched to a 3/4; may be time to go back to the full-face.
BEEN THERE, DONE THAT!!!![:@] It all happens and is over with before ya know it is even happening. Hope everything turns out OK for ya, and you are back in the wind really soon. Best of luck to ya.
Boargaurd, I have another question. Is there a liability here to the construction company, or is this a "sheet happens" event where your bike's insurance covers it?
My pet peeve in Mn is the counties that spread pea rock when sealcoating county roads, and don't post a sign.
Sorry to hear about your spill but glad to see you and your bike will be ok. Thanks for the pics - kinda reminds us all how important safety gear really is!I wear a 1/2 helmet when i ride if I wear one at all. Santa is now bringing me a full face for Christmas. Take care, heal up, and RIDE ON!!
Really don't know why I started wearing one, I recently purchased an Autocom intercom system and liked having the music piped in and I can use me cell phone when needed. That is probably why I was using it more.
Been to Sturgis a few times without a helmet and this year was the first time with the helmet. Here in Texas it does get warm in the summer but it was not as bad as one would think.
Just glad that I did have it on.

I t-boned a car several years ago and my full face helmet took a real beating. It looked like yours on the visor . The chin guard and forehead areas had big gouges in them. I kept the damaged helmet until I was packing to move to Florida and then threw it away. I should of kept it, for show and tell.
The main reason I started to wear a full face helmet was to get some protection from the constant Kansas wind. Now that I have seen the result after crashing, I wear onefull time while riding.
Hope your wrist heals up fast and your bike is back to new in short order.
Good luck,
Tom
Sorry about your misfortune. Hope all is well soon.I hope you took some pics of the roadway, thereare definately some liability issues there. In Kentucky construction companies are responsible for any mud and debris they track onto the roadway from job and construction sites.
Sorry for your crash and glad you are going to be ok. Those pictures are really making me consider getting a legitimate helmet. It just doesn't seem like a slow speed crash like that can cause as much damage as they can. Thanks for posting the pics.
Well like everyone else I am glad you came out as well as you did. Get back on that thing as soon as you can! I was in a bad accident in August that almost took my life and my right leg. However they were able to save my leg and obviously I am still here. Nothing suprises me about the cars not stopping as the lady that caused my accident that I hit never even got out of her car to check on me. I was air-cared if that tells you how bad I was. She was fine, thank god there were several witnesses that stopped and came to be with me until the medics got there. Back to your situation, plastic and metal can be fixed or replaced, body parts and lives cannot. My prayers and thoughts are with you! The accident was 8/31/2007 and I just got to almost using only one crutch, still have several months of therapy. I threw a leg over dads Ultra yesterday and stood it up, DAMN IT FELT GOOD! If I knew everyone wouldn't have flipped I would've taken it around the block...LOL! I will be going to pick up my new bike either Thursday or Saturday as my Indian was totalled. It will get better my friend!
